SLIPKNOT’s “Unsainted” Certified Gold by RIAA

Big day for SLIPKNOT, as the RIAA or (Recording Industry Association of Artists) has announced that “Unsainted” has been Certified Gold in the U.S.

For those that do know know, that means that the single, from the Iowa metal band has sold 500,000 units. One unit is the equivalent of one digital sale or 150 audio/video streams via your favorite streaming services.

While the song, off of the record “We Are Not Your Kind”, has been Certified Gold, the record itself sold 118,000 units in its first week out in August 2018. That even landed it No. 1 on Bilboard’s Top 200. Sales for the album were inflated tremendously as the band gave the album away via redemption offer with ticket sales. Although that does not takeaway from what will end up being just as excellent an album as the rest of them.

GHOST To Release New Album This Winter

GHOST has announced that a new album will be released this Winter! While this is not entirely new news, the projected release timeframe is. Last year, FORGE stated that 2020 would be a no touring year for them and would instead enter the studio January 2020 to write the follow up to “Prequelle”.

“Prequelle” was the record that we were introduced to CARDINAL COPIA, the alias of TOBIAS FORGE. With this new record in the works, GHOST and FORGE already announced that PAPA EMERITUS IV would be fronting this to be announced album and next touring cycle.

Take a listen to “Rats” below:

While traditionally GHOST writes about the current times were in, the rumors are they did not write about the current global pandemic we’re in. And although GHOST has stated that dates were in the works for Spring 2021, rumors have it they will be pushed back to later in the year or even 2022 when this pandemic subsided….Hopefully sooner rather than later….

What do you think? Are we ready for new GHOST music? Did you enjoy CARDINAL COPIA fronting the band, or will you enjoy the return of PAPA EMERITUS?
